School directories and child safety on the open record

What private schools and youth programmes routinely publish, and what we do about it.

Schools publish more than parents realise.

Class lists, sports team rosters, drama programmes, alumni magazines, parent association directories, charity acknowledgements. Most are not on the public web at first, but they end up indexed via search residue, school newsletters, or parent-shared documents. The name plus age plus school combination is the highest-risk identity pattern for children.

What family coverage does.

Cover and above includes family coverage for spouse and dependent children with consent. We watch the identity layer on each named family member, including school directory and youth programme residue, with the same monthly cadence as the principal.

What we ask of clients.

Talk to the school about what they publish. Most schools will limit or anonymise on request. We can prepare a short note for the school's administration if useful. The first line of defence is the school's own practice. Our watch is the second line.
