How we handled a major exchange pause last week
Real-time exchange events are something we built for.
Pause goes up at 02:31 GMT.
An exchange we watch paused all withdrawals at 02:31 GMT on a Saturday. No public statement for the first ninety minutes. Clients who held there got an alert from us at 02:34.
What was in the alert.
What was paused. When. The historical base rate of pauses on this exchange (roughly two a year, all operational). Our read on whether this looked operational or not. What we'd suggest if the client was anxious. What we'd suggest if they weren't.
The pause cleared at 04:18.
Operational maintenance, as it turned out. None of the affected clients had to act. All knew within minutes of the pause going up. The system did exactly what it was built for.
